FOR THE 2008 LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL WINE & SPIRITS AND
EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL COMPETITIONS ANNOUNCED
Now in its 69th year, the prestigiousLos Angeles International
Wine & Spirits Competition will attract nearly 4,000 wines
and hundreds of spirits to Fairplex from around the globe. This
year the spirits judging will be held first, on April 21-23.
The
wine portion of the judging follows on May 28-30. Adding a culinary
dimension to the competition, the Los Angeles International
Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, now in its 9th year, will
run concurrently with the wine competition, from May 27-29.
Nearly
100 international wine experts serve as judges for the Los Angeles
International Wine & Spirits Competition. The prestigious
panel includes renowned winemakers and distributors, importers,
sommeliers, professors, restaurateurs, viticulturists and columnists
and writers from Wine Spectator, Bon Appétit, the Los
Angeles Times and The Washington Post.

Medal winners will be available for public sampling in the Los
Angeles International Wine & Spirits Marketplace, presented
by Ralphs, during the 2008 L.A. County Fair, Sept. 5-28, closed
