In 2000, the Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Competition joined the world-renowned Los Angeles International
Wine & Spirits Competition, bringing together the finest
international and domestic oils and an impressive panel of judges.
The 2008 extra virgin olive oil competition takes place May
27-29.
Now
in its sixth successful year, the Los Angeles International
Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition has grown from 28 entries
in its inaugural year in 2000 to nearly 400 entries in 2007.
The competition is judged in two categories – domestic
and international –separated according to regional designations
and fruitiness intensity levels. The competition also judges
flavored olive oils.
